Why the name raSa health?
Rasa is my given name. Our family came from Sicily and we believe the name was much longer but my grandfather shortened it when he arrived at Ellis Island in NY.
What is of interest to me is that rasa is also a Sanskrit word which means “essence.” Essence is defined as “that which makes something what it is: intrinsic, fundamental nature or most important quality : essential being.
My adult life has been dedicated to understanding the intrinisic, fundamental nature of health and healing. raSahealth is dedicated to this understanding.
How long have you been doing what you do and how did you get to be a Holistic Practitioner
In the early 80’s Dr. Rasa began her healing arts career with studies in the Eastern philosophies including: Traditional Chinese medicine, Ayruveda, Shiatsu and meditation. During this time she opened the first wellness center in New Jersey (LifeQuest: A Center for Positive Living) and published the first natural living magazine in the region (Starlite Times).
In the 90’s Dr. Rasa decided to return to school and earned a B.S. Nutrition and doctorate in Chiropractic. Upon graduation she founded the Hunterdon Holistic Center www.hunterdonholisticcenter.com and co-founded the Hunterdon Holistic Society www.hunterdonholisticsociety.com.
In the new millenium Dr. Rasa began to study with Dietrich Klinghardt MD, PhD one of the most renowned physicians in the field of biological medicine in the world. He studied medicine and psychology in Freiburg, West Germany. After graduating, he conducted three years of research on the dysfunction in autoimmune disorders at the Albert-Ludwig University in Freiburg..www.klinghardtacademy.com He developed Autonomic Response Testing, a comprehensive diagnostic system. Dr. Rasa is proficient in Autonomic Response Testing and is a lyme literate ART practitioner.
Dr Rasa co-founded Multiple Kinetic Systems. www.multiplekineticsystems.com
This is an organized system used to assess and treat dis-ease based on a 5 level model of healing. She works closely with whole body dentist, Jeff Oras, DMD and provides the detoxification protocols necessary for proper mercury and heavy metal toxicities.
Dr. Rasa 1,000 of hours of continuing education in
- Bioresonance & biofeedback therapies
- Cranio-sacral therapy
- Matrix Repatternng
- Neuro Emotional Technique
- Metabolic Typing
- Allergy desensitization techniques
- Healing with Light & Sound
- Detoxification – Solvents & Heavy metals
She has been a health columnist for the Tewkesbury Times, appeared frequently on local community stations and CNN. She has taught Autonomic Response Testing for the Klinghardt Academy and led many classes in holistic health, healing with the chakras and laser and light therapies.
She practices functional medicine diagnostics and is skilled in lab interpretation focusing on physiology and function.
Can you help me?
I often tell patients I have helped other patients with similar challenges and history but no two people are alike. A lot also depends on the discipline and compliancy of the patient. I look at our relationship as a partnership. I will help guide you and coach you ….but you must do the work
Why do you want blood work…it always comes back normal? –
Unless the physician has been trained in functional medicine (medicine that deals with primary prevention and underlying causes instead of symptoms for serious chronic disease. They often don’t receive the training to analyze labs other than to look at ranges. Functional medicine is grounded in the following principles:Biochemical individuality, dynamic balance, everything is connected, health is not the absence of disease and the enhancing organ function. Lab work is not to be relied on as the only diagnosis but can offer a piece of the puzzle and I use it to build my care plan and my approach.
I like my medical doctor and want to stay with them. However, I want to compliment what I am doing with a natural, holistic approach. Can you work with me?
This is what I love to do. Western trained medical doctors have much to offer. The answer isn’t conventional vs alternative but a reasonable blend of both. Western medicine is the best in the world for acute trauma and infectious disease. However, it lacks understanding of a mind, body spirit approach.
I live 1,000 miles away. Do you offer remote consultations?
I do. There is much we can do using the modern technology we have today with skype, teleseminars, webinars, e-mail and other. Often, the patients I work with remotely use my services to fill in and compliment what they are already doing.
How often do I need to see you?
This is on an individual basis. Since we offer many adjunct therapies and services some patients come in several times a week. This may be to enjoy the FIR Sauna, detoxifying foot baths, receive cranio-sacral treatment or laser therapies.
Do I have to get my amalgams out before I see you?
The answer is NO. A large part of our protocol is preparing the patient for proper amalgam removal. We have found some patients get worse if the mercury/amalgams are not removed properly or the organs of detoxification and elimination have not been properly prepared
How much does it cost? Do you take insurance?
We are not in-network with any insurance companies. However, we do provide a “superbill” to patients which can be submitted for reimbursement. The doctor’s fee is $150/hour.
What labs do you offer?
We can provide lab kits for hair tissue mineral analysis, environmental pollutants testing, organic acids, hormone testing and others as deemed necessary.
What is the NES (nutrienergetics) system?
NES is a pioneering approach to integrative, holistic health based on decades of research into the human body-field. The human body-field is a structured web of information and energy that is present within the body and influences the state of our overall health and well-being.
Thousands of people worldwide are using NES to enjoy expanded levels of vitality and to help restore and maintain greater levels of emotional and physical well-being. http://www.nes-america.com/publicinfo.html
Why do you want to know about my teeth?
The teeth and a patient’s dental history are vital to understanding systemic health. Did you know each tooth sits on a meridian which has a direct pathway to each organ such as the kidney, liver and gallbladder. Click here to view more.http://mercuryfreedentistga.com/education/tooth-organ-chart
What types of supplements natural medicines do you use?
Patients often ask what to take or which product is best. There are thousands of products out there. It is my job to identify the best products for my patients and be knowledgeable in how best to prescribe them and in what dosages. I am constantly studying new products and keeping up with current research. Most of the products I use and offer on our site are only distributed by licensed professionals. I only offer products which I have tested and and trust in their sources, how they are manufactured and the integrity of the company that provides them. I use a combination of vitamins, herbs, homeopathy and information based products.
How do I learn more about the 5 levels of health and healing?
The 5 levels is a model of testing and treating which is based on ancient wisdom and modern technology. This model recognizes the physical body, energy body, mental body, informational body and consciousness. We offer ongoing teleseminars on both a beginners and advanced level. Register to learn with us.
What are the 7 factors you talk about?
Practitioners of all disciplines have identified 7 common factors underlying all dis-ease. They include but are not limited to:
- Toxins: Heavy metals, amalgam fillings, chemicals, xenobiotics, solvents and biotoxins from microorganisms and parasites
- Nutritional Deficiencies/ biochemical imbalances: Use supplement test kit and medications for test
- Structural problems: T.M.D./Malocclusion, bridge crossing the midline, vertebral or cranial subluxation, etc.
- Energetic perturbances: Dysfunctional scars, ganglia, acupuncture meridians and points. This commonly includes tonsil focal infections.
- Food Intolerances: Diagnose and open regulation with food allergy test kit. Then have the patient do the test elimination/challenge at home.
- Geopathic Stress: Diagnose and open regulation with geopathic stress test (spring ligament), visualization, and closing and covering the eyes to test biophysical stress.
- Unresolved psycho-emotional or spiritual conflict or trauma: Diagnose with eye movements and color glasses; continue to treat with APN procedures and MFT.
What is Autonomic Response Testing & how is it used?
An advancement on standard kinesiology was co-developed by Dietrich Klinghardt, MD, PhD and Louisa Williams, ND in 1993 called Neural Kinesiology. This form of testing was targeted at identifying the state of health of the autonomic nervous system. The focus of the testing was to identify and treat the 7 most common factors that block/stress healthy functioning of the nervous system. Dr. Klinghardt went on to further develop the work into what is now called Autonomic Response Testing (ART). He continually is advancing this work to make it more sensitive, reproducible and easier on the patient and practitioner.
Dr. Rasa taught ART for the Klinghardt Academy in NYC in February to 100 practitioners. She is also the host & moderator for a monthly call where Dr. Klinghardt updates practitioners of his model and keeps his studens informed and current in ever changing treatments and protocals. ART is a fundamental technique used throughout our entire practice and is in part what makes us unique from other holistic centers and helps us to tailor protocols to each individual
Autonomic Response testing can be used to:
- Identify food sensitivities, geopathic stress, interference fields and biophysical stress
- Find and prioritize stressed organs and structures
- Determine the major factors impacting the health of your patient’s nervous system to help find the underlying causes of many chronic illnesses.
- Prioritize treatment protocols for any chronic or acute illness.
- How to scan the body for primary vs. secondary issues.
- Identify the 7 factors: both from a diagnostic and treatment perspective.
- To determine what organs are stressed and need extra support.
- To screen supplements, foods, and medications for allergy vs. deficiencies
- Dr. Klinghardt’s and our favorite treatments for:
- Autism
- Lyme disease, the latest non-pharmaceutical programs
- Heavy metals, HPU/KPU, methylation and sulfation support
- Parasites and gut dysbiosis
- Fungal and Bacterial infections
- Psychological Perturbance, and unresolved family issues
- How the dental component affects a person
- EMF sensitivities
What does a first visit include?
All patients seeing Dr. Rasa will experience the ART testing as part of their visit and clinical evaluation, in addition to lab and traditional physical exams, etc. One of the most important things ART helps her with is to identify the priority of where one needs to focus to attain wellness. In other words, the ART makes it obvious wht issue, infection or stressor needs to be addressed first. It also helps her to identify which treatments are the best for YOUR body at this particular moment in time. Using the ART technique, along with reviewing your history and appropriate lab testing can help to get you on the road to health faster..
Though we know many possible protocols for detoxing and fighting infection, we do not practice protocol medicine. No one protocol works for everyone so our goal is to use the ART testing to help find the treatments that are just right for you. Your treatments may contain a blend of homeopathics / vitamins / herbs / prescriptions based on your situation and preferences.
How is Autonomic Response Testing different from Applied Kinesiology?
ART testing is much more sensitive than most forms of kinesiology. What Dr. Klinghardt found is that several of the 7 Factors put the body under so much stress that it puts the system into a sympathetic dominance. This often appears as a strong arm. Standard kinesiology tests everything against a strong arm, so many of the biggest issues are often missed because the practitioner cannot sense when a strong arm is becoming stronger. The ART system first checks everything against a weak arm, looking for items that “block” regulation of the nervous system. In this way it is very easy to feel when a weak arm becomes strong or rigid. We often find that Lyme and many of the co-infections will only show up on this level, and that these infections are almost impossible to find with standard forms of kinesiology.
