Lab Testing has its place in any practice…but is it enough?

It’s often frustrating when a patient hands me their lab work or recent CBC (Complete Blood Chemistry) and tell me their primary care Doc said, "it’s all good ….nothing to worry about" and then we analyze it according to a Functional model and we find a number of imbalances that suggest something entirely different.

It’s important to understand that any lab testing only provides a piece of the puzzle and the information provided is only as useful as the level of skill of as the practitioner analyzing the results. There is also the pitfall of false positives and samples that have been contaminated or even worse is sending the same sample to three different labs and getting three different results. I’m often dismayed by what insurance companies are willing to pay and accept as the "standard of care." Some of the most useful biomarkers such as Vitamin D, and Thyroid antibodies and Leptin are not recognized as "standard of care and Doc’s don’t bother to run the panel because the insurance company will deny payment and the patient will be left paying out-of-pocket.

At raSahealth we have found it valuable to test in multiple ways. We embrace the 5 levels of health and healing model and we know that bio-chemistry is only one small piece of the human design.

Have you gone to the Doctor with a concern of a small mass or symptom and the Doc say’s I don’t see anything to be concerned about come back in 3 months and we’ll check it again. Why is that? It may just be because the Docs know that many of the tests they rely on are not very "sensitive" and if they wait long enough eventually the test will come back positive. Frankly, the longer you wait to "find" the problem ….the bigger the problem has become. Cancer has been developing many years before there are symptoms or before the traditional tests we rely on are sensitive enough to detect the anamoly. We know the longer you have it…the harder it is to correct. By the time a mass has developed on a breast and detected through a mammogram it may be several years after the cells began to change. Therefore, using "sensitive" tests and cross checking through different systems often reveal imbalances before they become life-threatening.

One test we can use is a Functional interpretation of your blood chemistry which compares the patient to a population of "healthy" people instead of a population of sick patients which results in a far wider bell curve and ultimately leads to the Doc saying "you’re blood work was fine! We’ll see you next year." Let’s look at this option a little more closely.

BioChemistry

Most Docs are using the conventional laboratory reference ranges for blood chemistry and CBC interpretation. For many practitioners blood chemistry and CBC analysis is a matter of comparing a test result with the conventional laboratory reference range, seeing whether or not the patient’s results are normal or abnormal and attempting to fit them into a particular disease pattern or pathology. These conventional laboratory ranges are designed to identify and diagnose disease states and pathology. People who fall within the reference range are assumed to have no clinical signs and symptoms of any disease, and are considered "normal." Have you heard of someone who had just been cleared in their yearly physical only to drop dead of a heart attack only weeks later.

Practitioners of Functional and holistic medicine understand that symptoms of deep fatigue, migrating muscle aches and joint pain, numbness, tingling, and brain fog is not normal. Yet our patients with these symptoms do not have a clinically identifiable disease. As a result they are told by their doctor that they have an "unremarkable" or "normal" laboratory test, i.e. they are "clinically" normal or "it’s all in your head." They may be normal when compared to a database of the sick or diseased , but often they fall into an entirely different light when compared to a population of those with optimal health. As a practitioner trained in Functional interpretation of Blood Chemistries we know to also look for trends and patterns that may indicate the need for further investigation.

This patient’s lab was considered "normal" by his medical doctor yet when we ran his panel according to functional analysis we saw a pattern of elevated AST, decreased Co2 and increased alkaline phosphotase which placed her at an 78% risk for congestive heart dysfunction.

We can no longer rely on the "standard of care" as dictated by insurance companies. Insurance companies are in business to earn a profit. Their focus is sick care not "health" care.

I’ve posted before about my personal loss and journey with a beloved brother who spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals.. Near the end time when I visited I could see he was very ill. Yet I asked his specialist how he was doing and they answered "we expect a great recovery!" I began to weep silently. My brother asked, “what’s wrong,”….I said, “I hate to see you like this.” He said, “Why? Do you think I’m sick?…. The Doctors tell me I will recover.”

My prognosis was very different. I looked at the tongue, the nails, the pulse, the eyes, his bio-field and I saw decay and loss of life. This was a perfect example of relying on labs only or having a Doc who has no skill interpreting the numbers or the signs. I did not need the "labs" to tell me how he was. His body told me everything I needed to know.

.

This picture represents the 3 levels we are evaluating. (Left) The physical body (through chemistry) (Middle) The Biofield through Bio resonance and (Right) Autonomic Response Testing.

Have you had the experience where one day your computer "isn’t working the way it used to?" It’s slower…the files may appear rearranged and everything takes longer. So you call Tech Support and they guide you through the steps…check the cables, the monitor, the processor, the connections, the keyboard and you say everything is fine….You even bang every key and nothing changes and the voice on the other ends says "everything seems to be fine." But YOU KNOW EVERTHING IS NOT FINE. The breakdown isn’t in any one individual part– it is IN THE WHOLE. It could be the operating software. This is why conventional medicine is limited. It only looks at the individual parts In fact—we have specialists for every part but no doctor to assess the whole.

Bioresonance testing offers a view of the whole.

BioResonance Testing

Information leads to Transformation!

Physical matter is only one interpretation of the human body. It has been what Western medicine has focused on for the past 100 years. Other cultures and systems of healing recognize that the body is composed of and emits light. In fact, these ancient systems embrace a model that understands it is the bio-field that influences the bio-chemistry and many of their treatments revolve around physics and the use of frequency, resonance, sound, light and more. Therefore, if we are only assessing a patient according to their biochemistry we are missing the forest through the trees.

The bioresonance system we use in our office is based on a "frequency matching" model. Once the patient is scanned their blueprint is matched against the "optimal" and the results are reported in various graphs, graphics and colors. Perhaps, you are aware of the connection to emotional trauma and heart disease. There are numerous studies to show the affects of emotional trauma and heart disease. This information is stored in the bio-field and able to be matched to specific locations in the body.

Remember the patient with the 78% risk for Congestive Heart Dysfunction? After we performed their Bio-resonance scan we were able to precisely identify the underlying emotional patterns locked in their field indicating an earlier trauma surrounding the concept of "loss." When questioning the patient they revealed the significant loss they had experienced only 3 years ago with the untimely passing of two loved ones. We began a multifacted approach and immediately began to address the underlying factors significantly decreasing their risk.

What you see here is a matching of the concept of "loss" revealing itself in the "coronary veins" as depicted by the RED in each of the following scans.

Note: The primary focus in this scan is anything in red. Notice the "red" indicating coronary veins in the first figure.

Note: Highest focus is shown in "red." The concept of "loss"

Can someone die from a brokenheart? Internationalgriefcouncil.org was founded by three women from three different cultures and three different countries as each of them tell their personal story of how grief and profound loss tore their worlds apart and left them changed forever. Their lifework is now dedicated to counciling, guiding and helping others with a profound and unshakable sense of loss rediscover themselves and their wholeness.

In our patient care we use Applied Psycho Neurobiology to address this level of healing

See your health in a whole new light!

Great minds have often said if you want to understand life you only have to observe nature. Most of us have at one time or another planted a seed and watched it grow. Think of the components you need…seed, soil, water, oxygen and light. This summer I often sat in the morning and reflected on how the trees in our yard would twist and bend themselves as to only draw closer to the light. Seasonal Effective Disorder (S.A.D.) is a condition that effects millions as the seasons turn into winter and our light dependent bodies yearn to feel the nourishing rays.

Our dense physical body is composed of things that the naked eye cannot see–atoms, molecules, chromosomes and cells. However, words like "atoms," "chromosomes," and "cells" can hardly describe divinity’s creative activities or the true nature of life. Our cells contain the DNA/RNA memory codes and intelligence factors to access and fulfill their evolutionary advancement.

In the 1970′s, Fritz-Albert Popp, theoretical biophysicist at the university of Marburg in Germany was looking for the difference between two similar hydrocarbons. Although their chemical structures are virtually the same, one of them is carcinogenic. He discovered the only difference between them is how they interact with UV light. He performed his test on 37 other chemicals, some cancer-causing, some not. After a while, it got so that he could predict which substances could cause cancer. In every instance, the compounds that were carcinogenic took the UV light, absorbed it and changed the frequency. When he presented his findings at a conference for oncologists, they told him it was crazy. They said his results must mean light is being emitted by cells. Popp said, "YES!"

Popp and one of his students developed a photo-multiplier that could measure light emitted by cells, photon by photon. His research showed that our own cells produce biophotons that communicate with one another. These photons are coherent, as in laser light. Coherent light occurs when the wavelengths are the same and the waves are in phase with one another.

The work in Biophotons has challenged our accepted understanding of cellular processes. Light does two things in the body. First, it changes the condition of the atoms for the order of the system. Second, it transfers information between the cells. We have over 100,000 reactions per second in each cell. These reactions must be activated by a process that works much faster than enzymes can. Only light can do that–provide the information to coordinate 100,000 reactions in each cell per second! The body also uses light to make order, a special kind of order. It is the knowledge and understanding of these principals that encouraged Dr. Klinghardt to develop Autonomic Response Testing. You may find it interesting to know that this model is accepted widely throughout Europe. In fact, Dr. Klinghardt has often said his patients in Germany would much prefer a Laser Energetic Detox and Autonomic Response Testing instead of any lab or pills he may have in his black bag. Yet, his patients in the U.S. are so conditioned to receive a prescription when they go to their Doc they feel like the visit wasn’t valuable if they leave without one.

There are many tools and techniques to assess the Bio-field. Autonomic Response Testing is the tool I am certified in and it has been a lamplight on a sometimes dark and lonely path and a wayshower when other Docs said there was no way.

If you have read this far then you are one of the few that has begun to think outside the box of our current understanding of health and healing. Like you–I am on a journey to greater awareness and understanding. By no means is the information here meant to imply we have all the answers. Like the popular folk song, "The Bear Went Over the Mountain and …what do you think he saw? He saw another mountain…" We are experiencing a paradigm shift in what health is and how to heal. Everyday there are dynamic leaps in physics and the new biology pointing the way to what may be another mountain waiting to be discovered. If you are one who has felt the inner nudge that we are more than our biochemistry and know that by not addressing the other principals of human design we are in fact missing the forest through the trees– jump on board and explore what’s possible on the frontier of greater health options. I’ll meet you on the mountain.

Doc…Could It Be My Thyroid? https://rasahealth.com/2015/01/doc-could-it-be-my-thyroid/ https://rasahealth.com/2015/01/doc-could-it-be-my-thyroid/#comments Wed, 28 Jan 2015 19:41:22 +0000 http://rasahealth.com/?p=3148 Continue reading ]]> Doc…Could it be my thyroid?

Each year I have complete bloodwork done as part of my wellness protocal.

Last year was different for me. After unpacking my summer worddrobe I realized all my clothes were tight. Geez….I thought "it sure was a rough winter and I did not get out and walk nearly as much but I was surprised by the pounds I had put on. As the Doc went through her checklist I told her I was definetely feeling more tired…my skin was dry and I had gained 10 pounds in one winter season. She suggested I start exercising and increase my Vitamin D. Then I said, "Do you think it could be my Thyroid?" She said she would run some labs and let me know.

Within 3 days her office called and suggested I start Synthroid (T4 medication) immediately and that I would have to be on it for the rest of my life. I set up an appointment to discuss this approach. I asked, "why do I need to go on medicine for the rest of my life?" Her reply, "BECAUSE YOUR THYROID IS NOT WORKING!." I thought to myself and this medicine is not going to do anything to help my thyroid START working.

I decided to do a thorough review of my lifestyle and wellness plan leading up to this diagnosis and I realized one big change I had made last year was to become "gluten free." What I did not realize was that all the "gluten free" products I was consuming were simply replacing wheat flour with cornstarch, rice starch, potato starch, or tapioca starch. The problem was these foods trigger the glucose-insulin response that causes you to gain weight and increase blood sugar even MORE than wheat products. For me this contributed to elevated blood sugar, weight gain and leaky-gut!

I had also become the caregiver of a close family member who was critically ill. The emotional stress of the possibility of loosing this loved one and the responsibility I felt in helping them get well had thrown my stress levels through the roof. I decided to take a pro active approach and be my own detective. I am not against pharmaceuticals yet I did not want to begin there. I felt I had to give myself a chance to explore all of the options and as a natural health practitioner I wanted to understand what led to this change.

The first thing I did was run the correct panel of of numbers to get a more precise understanding of the clinical picture. This is a big bone of contention in many medical offices because the Standard of Care dictates they only evaluate the TSH level. (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) and maybe T3 T4. There is a great deal of controversy around this approach as Conventional Doctors have adopted the TSH as the "Gold Standard" If the TSH is normal, the search for hypothyroidsim usually ends. The problem here is many people with Thyroid disease have normal TSH levels because the TSH is a Pituitary hormone. Unfortunately, this test cannot measure if all your cells and tissues are receiving the released thyroid hormones. If you are –the TSH result will be normal. The best way to use the TSH lab test is in diagnosing a pituitary problem, not a thyroid problem. A very low TSH with a low free T3 gives away a pituitary issue. As a Certified practitioner of Dr. Klinghardt’s work I often hear him in the back of my mind saying "Treat the patient…not the lab!"

Once I began to understand these 2 triggers I was not ready to jump into a lifetime of meds but I was ready to make some corrections.

Having yearly blood work done is something I recommend for all my patients. Unfortunately, most doctors do not really know how to interpret the results. They simply look for highs and lows and do not consider the patterns and trends. I ran all the tests outlined in #1 of the Thyroid Reference Guide as designed by Mary Shomon along with a CBC, metabolic and lipid profile.

My results were indicative for Hashimotos, which is an autoimmune disease. Hypothyroidism is a condition. It was easy to see the relationship between my increase in gluten free products combined with the emotional stress and its impact on my physiology and I began to undue the damage

Using my Functional Medicine Background I ran my own numbers

Once I saw this I understood part of the perfect storm was due to the increase in insulin from the dietary changes leading to dysglycemia and on it’s way to Metabolic Syndrome. I became acutely aware of the relationship between my increase in gluten free products combined with the emotional stress and its impact on my physiology and I made a decision to due the damage

In conventional medicine if you have a heart issue the Doctor doesn’t usually ask about your liver and if you have a gall bladder problem the Doc doesn’t typically ask about your heart. They treat each organ as a separate entity. This is like designing and building a new kitchen without considering how big a family you have. In my own case the M.D. never inquired about lifestyle changes or other factors that may have been a trigger for my body to change from normal to abnormal. This Doc only wanted to write me a prescription. As we we’ve said before when all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail!

Take a look at this to better understand the relationship between systems.

Having had a history of low Vit D, the emotional stress I was dealing with which was impacting my physiology, food intolerances leading to leaky gut and inflammation I was an Auto Immune Disease text book case.

The standard & optional ranges for Functional health is a different range than you would find with standard lab criteria. The reason is labs such as Quest or LabCorp compare the findings to a population of diseased patients while the Functional model standard compares you to optimal wellness. The result is Functional practitioners are able to detect underlying imbalances and identify anomolies long before you develop pathology. Doesn’t is make sense to make the correction BEFORE you have a diagnosis? This can be very helpful in seeing the totality of the system and not just what one organ like the Thyroid is working or not working. If I had relied on the M.D. I would have never understood what led up to these findings and I would have been on medication for the rest of my life.

Did you know there is such a thing as Hypothyroidism Type II – This is hormone resistance

Mark Starr, M.D. author of Hypothyroidism Type 2 explains the difference this way:

 • With Type 1 Hypothyroidism, the thyroid does not produce sufficient amounts of hormone to maintain “normal” blood levels of hormones, which in turn will maintain normal blood levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) produced by the pituitary.
 • With Type 2 Hypothyroidism, the thyroid gland produces “normal” amounts of hormone, but the cells are unable to utilize the hormone properly. Some experts call this thyroid hormone resistance (which may be regarded as similar to insulin resistance).

Do you know that Thyroid disease is the most under diagnosed disorder and the most mis-treated condition?

Sadly, most Doc’s really miss the mark here. When a thyroid disorder is identified the standard of care since the 1960′s is the prescribed medication of synthetic leothyroxine sodium, also called l-thyroxine or just plain T4. Brand names can include: Synthroid, Levoxyl, Levothroid, Eltroxin, Oroxine, Unithroid, and others. is Synth. Doctors are taught the problem is just in the thyroid, when most of the time it is not. T4 is a storage hormone. Your thyroid also produces T3, T2, T1 and calcitonin. For many, taking T4 is like taking an elevator that only goes to the 5th floor when you are trying to get to the Penthouse.

Do you know what the 3 different pathways for developing thyroid disease are?

Thyroid conditions most often occur because of a problem somewhere other than the thyroid gland itself, which is why the blood work can be normal and you still not feel well. There are 3 reasons for this phenomenon….

 1. Hormone Resistance (Type II thyroid resistance)
 2. A Stress-Related Thyroid Condition (rT3 Dominance)
 3. Autoimmune Thyroiditis (Hashimoto’s Disease)

1. Hormone Resistance

Hormone resistance is the fastest growing pandemic in the world and you probable never heard of it. Have you heard of Diabetes Type II? The problem here is glucose cannot get into the cell. Type II Diabetics have plenty of insulin but the cells can’t get the message to let glucose into the cell.

Likewise with Hormone resistance or Type II Hypothyroidism there is plenty of hormone but the cell is resistant to taking it in. Active T3 thyroid hormone cannot be used in the cell because the receptors to T3 are non responsive. Your cells are literally starving for T3, but the feedback loop from the pituitary gland gets the message that there is adequate T3 and signals the thyroid that everything is okay. This can result in normal TSH levels and then the Doc tells you, “your labs are fine…you do not have a thyroid condition.

Most doctors simply address the thyroid without considering the underlying issue. In hormone resistance there is a good chance that inflammation in the cell is the problem. One of the causes is toxins and affects the cell’s ability to receive the message. Hormone resistance is a massive epidemic driven by inflammation of the cell. You may have heard that inflammation is the cause of most health problems today, including diabetes, thyroid, heart disease, and even cancer. However more specifically, it is inflammation of the cell that is the problem. This underlying cause must be addressed.

In this condition taking thyroid hormone will do nothing to correct the problem.

2. STRESS

– A stress-related thyroid condition is the second reason for the phenomenon where your blood work looks normal and you still have many of the clinical symptoms.

Perhaps you have been diagnosed and are already taking medication for your thyroid. Maybe your blood work is normal and the Doc’s have said you are fine.

Perhaps you have a stress related hormonal imbalance. This was one part of the perfect storm that happened to me. Being the caretaker for my loved one put an enormous stress on me emotionally and physically from which I am only just recovering.

3. Auto Immune

You could be one of the estimated 80% of people who have an auto-immune thyroid condition, meaning that you body is attacking itself.

The approach to healing thyroid conditions are different if you are autoimmune, hypo or hyperthyroid, Reverse T3 dominant, or have a Type II Thyroid condition.

It takes detective work and a knowledgable practitioner who is willing to not only run the correct labs but knows how to interpret them and provide proper treatment solutions.

Let’s be sure to address another part of the diagnosis and that is the emotional/spiritual connection. Louise Hay writes that thyroid is related to "When is it going to be my turn." Thyroid patients are often caregivers, hands on …let’s roll up our sleeves and get it done sort of people.

All dis-ease is our body messaging us that something needs to change….and that change does not happen in a pill.

Unfortunately, many people are being treated for thyroid conditions with replacement hormones and yet still suffering with a multitude of unexplainable symptoms? This can be true for so many because the doctor points to their “normal” blood work, and therefore the “success” of the medication. Of course there is a time and a place for medication, especially if you are one of those who do not have a thyroid.

What is the bottom line here?

Take Action!

Find a practitioner who will run the correct labs and is able to interpret them. Then differentiate the treatment accordingly.

If you are like me and fall into the Auto Immune category one of the most beneficial things I have done to correct this pattern was a Liver cleanse & Gall Bladder Flush.

Did you know: 60% of thyroid hormone is converted from T4 to T3 in the liver? Thyroid hormone influences the way that cholesterol and other lipids are synthesized and broken down and this happens in the liver. This is one of the reasons people with Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism often have lipid panels with imbalances in their cholesterol, LDL and triglycerides.

Thyroid hormone also affects detoxification pathways in the liver and affects the enzyme system which helps us metabolize environmental toxins. When this slows down the toxins build up.

How Does the Gall Bladder fit Into this? The liver filters, metabolizes and cleans the blood. Byproducts from these processes are dumped into the gall bladder to help the body get them out. Low thyroid function slows down this whole process, making the liver and gall bladder sluggish and congested and can lead to gallstones?

Have you wondered why Gall Bladder removal is now one of the most popular surgeries done every day in this country. It could have all started with thyroid hormones and the liver. Had a patient met with a Functional health practitioner these signs and symptoms would not have gone unnoticed and steps could have been taken to correct the problem and many people would still have their gall bladders.

Once I fully understood this I became an advocate for liver cleanses and gall bladder flushes. There are numerous ways to accomplish this and you can find many programs on the internet. I caution you. Some of these programs are incomplete and fall short of the mark and may lead to other more serious consequences. I have dedicated a part of my work to leading groups through this process and will be offering a group again in March. If you would like more information on this please click here.

Here are some comments from a group who just completed a 28 day Liver cleanse/Gall Bladder Flush

I feel so much better especially the pain that has lifted from my heart and chest which is caused by inflammation due to having Lupus. Now I will work even harder taking the things that I have learned emotionally, and physically…. How to think in a much calmer way, and what works and doesn’t work for my body. If only everyone could use some of their intelligence and put it towards their health, and well being using less drugs and following some kind of a protocal we would all be in such a better place! Thank you Dr. Sharon

It was a real "wake up call" for me as it taught me how my body doesn’t need all the food I was giving it plus it has got me back to eating very little and possibly no meat. I’ve learned your mind is more often hungrier than your body. I’ve been very creative in the kitchen and the broths I will make a regular item in my diet. The only hard part was getting past all the neuro associations with eating. I feel great; lost some inches and will weigh myself on Monday. My only critique is that there were some steps and items missed from the protocol; do’s and don’ts but no biggie. We all talked it out and got our answers. Great job Dr Sharon and to all that hung in there

I was addicted to my coffee and never thought I could go 28 days. I am astonished by the changes in my body. My belly is flatter than it has been in years. My skin is glowing again. I am feeling hopeful, interested and encouraged again. I was afraid to do this and I want to thank you Dr. Sharon for your encouragement and guidance. I am so grateful.

If you would like more information for the next group in March 2015 please click here.

If you have read all the way through this, there’s a good chance you are searching for answers and direction. I could go on and on as there is so much to share and understand. I hope we have provided you with enough for you to become your own advocate and seek better answers, the correct treatment and begin the process of total repair and recovery.

I Can’t Sleep in My House!

In the Fall I love to take my heavy blankets to the laundry mat and get everything fresh for the season. I met Bob there. He was doing his weekly laundry at the same time and he told me that he had been sleeping in his van for the last two weeks because his home was flooded after the hurricane, and the mold was making him sick.

As it turns out not everybody has friends and family they can turn to when they are down on there luck. I started thinking about several patients of mine who told me they could not live in their home because their house too was making them sick.

These homes aren’t shacks with leaky roofs. They’re homes like yours and mine. If you think mold only grows in damaged uncared for homes you couldn’t be more mistaken. It happens in every kind of home…..big, small, new, old, expensive and not.

With symptoms like sneezing, sinus congestion, headaches, coughing, allergies and breathing difficulties I couldn’t help but wonder why so many millions of people need Claritin just to get through the day. Did many of these people have an undetected mold issue?

Some people know they are allergic to mold, yet they may not realize that mold is growing in their homes and workspace. Mold is not visible to us until it creates a super-colony of fruiting structures. Mold spores are microscopic. We cannot see mold spores in the air, even when there are tens of thousands of spores in each cubic meter of the air surrounding us.

Did you know mold thrives everywhere from 30,000 feet in the air to the deepest mine in the earth? Author and mold expert, Edward Close, Phd. writes that mold can survive without air, in freezing or boiling hot environments and grows from the tropics to the Arctic. It is one of the most successful life forms on earth right up there with insects and bacteria. Because mold is so ubiquitous, people think it is harmless. He said, “exposure to toxic mold is the most commonly overlooed underlying cause and/or aggravation of many health problems.” Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker, author of Mold Illness and Mold Warrior calls mold related illness Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome from Water-Damaged Buildings (CIRS-WDB).

I’ve seen first hand how mold affects human health. The fatigue, vertigo, sore throat, sneezing fits. Memory loss and flu-like symptoms can be debilitating. Just what is it about mold that affects us? Two aspects stand out: spores and mycotoxins. Both can be airborne and both can cause allergic reactions on the surface of the skin and inside our bodies. They can grow inside nasal passages, sinus cavities, bronchial passage and lungs.

There is so much to know about mold and biotoxin illness that I have decided to offer a one-hour teleseminar to talk about just that. In the meantime, I offer you some suggestions here. There are two things to consider. The mold in your home and the mold in your body.

What you can do for the…

Mold in your home?

FIRST: Professional Mold Sampling
Environmental Relative Moldiness Index (ERMI. http://www.ermimoldtest.com/ermi_dna_mold_testing.asp offers several advantages over traditional mold screening methods. Carpet dust acts as a reservoir for mold spores and is more representative of mold levels over time versus traditional short term air samples (Park et al., 2006). Further, the use of a DNA-based method for this test allows for increased precision of mold identification .

SECOND: Diffuse the Thieves Oil Blend

After Sampling is completed, the next step is to diffuse the Thieves oil blend continuously (non-stop) for a minimum of 24 hours in the room or rooms where you have mold. Determining how long to diffuse is related to how serious the mold infestation is.

The recommended cold-air diffuser is very easy to set up and clean. Anyone can do it. No special skills or training are required.

THIRD: Clean with the Thieves Household Cleaner
After sampling and diffusing have been completed, then clean areas with visible mold using the Thieves Household Cleaner (it contains the Thieves oil blend). Use appropriate protective equipment. The absolute minimum required to address mold is the following: I’ve made a short video of how we worked with my neighbor.

1 Bottle of the Thieves Oil Blend -15 ml
1 Thieves Household Cleaner
1 Cold Air Diffuser

After diffusing is completed, clean visible mold and stains with the recommended Household Cleaner, undiluted. Use protective equipment and take precautions to avoid contact with and breathing mold spores while cleaning. Even dead mold spores can cause allergic reactions, so protective equipment is highly recommended.

Mold in your body?

FIRST: Begin to treat yourself and your family members.

A favorite of mine is the propolis vaporizer. Propolis is a resinous mixture that honey bees collect from tree buds, sap flows, or other botanical sources.

It is widely know for its anti-microbial, immune modulating benefits. Propolis attaches to mold spores and is amazingly effective in neutralizing mold spores and harmful bacterial in the home. We have them available in our wellness store.

SECOND: Foods to Eat

 • Eat only freshly prepared low-glycemic fruits (peeled) and vegetables.

 • Eat protein: including meats and fresh fish.

 • Drink bottled water. Tap water contains mold. Try to drink distilled or reverse osmosis water as it retains the good bacteria in the digestive tract.

 • Try to avoid chemicals and additives such as hormones and antibiotics.

 • Avoid all grains, and all processed/packaged foods.

 • Freshly cooked brown rice is safe. Soak with a little Vitamin C before cooking.

THIRD: Attend my Free Teleseminar

“Could MOLD be your Problem” Tuesday, October 25th. We’ll look at how mold affects us and learn some simple and effective treatments to consider. Meet me there & bring your family and friends.

What are the 5 levels of health & healing? https://rasahealth.com/2011/08/5-levels-of-health-healing-blog/ https://rasahealth.com/2011/08/5-levels-of-health-healing-blog/#comments Wed, 31 Aug 2011 22:02:25 +0000 http://rasahealth.com/?p=215 Continue reading ]]> The 5 levels of health is a model which organizes health and healing into the physical body, energy body, mental body, information body and consciousness. The idea of 5 levels of health is not new. There are many ancient references to the idea that we are more than our physical body. The work I do is a contemporary application of these ancient principles coupled with the usefulness of modern technology and clinical application. I was introduced to this model through the work of my mentor, Dietrich Klinghardt, M.D, Phd. www.KlinghardtAcademy.com The Taittiriya Upanishad describes five bodies or sheaths called koshas that “cover” or contain our higher consciousness. The koshas constitute layers, or veils, that operate at different levels, always circling ever outward from the inner self. These five layers or sheaths of consciousness are usually depicted as originating with the most material kosha and transcending to the most ethereal.

An alternative view is that the koshas emerge from the highest vibratory or spiritual state, or the blissful level, and then shift toward the most material level. While the energies shift from subtle to material, the material then climbs again to subtle. Thus, the koshas can be viewed as constantly operating on both a microcosmic and macrocosmic level. In our model, the 5 levels also shift one to the other, interdependent, each influencing the other. You might say we began as “consciousness” or spirit and was then birthed into the physical only to return to consciousness. Others believe we began as physical and are meant to return to the spiritual. (spirit.) It’s safe to say….no one knows for sure. There are many mysteries yet to be fully understood on each of these levels. For me, that is part of the wonder.
